Your most memorable trip to the world’s highest pass! - Road trip to Leh/Ladakh from Delhi

Leh- Ladakh is like a heavenly place on earth. These regions are new to tourism, but shall soon open its passageways to welcome lots of tourists and travellers. Various highways have been constructed and set up, and this has made these regions a popular haunt for adventure freaks. People from all parts of the country (and the rest of the globe) travel to Leh every year. Ladakh is the perfect destination if you are looking to enjoy a cost-effective and adventurous summer journey.

The actual trip

Day 1: Arrival to Delhi
This is the arrival day to Delhi.

Day 2:  bus transfer to Nagar / Kullu valley
A privately chartered AC super deluxe bus can be hired for the 12-14 hours journey to the hill station 600km north of Delhi.

Day 3: Relaxation day and a short hike hotel in Nagar
All the hotels in Nagar are extremely beautiful and situated on the slopes next to Nagar castle.

Day 4: Warm up tour
To warm up, you can go to explore winding mountain roads along the picturesque bear valley. 

Day 5: Manali
With the choicest setup amidst forests on hills, Manali is also the ideal setting for Bazaar shopping and for visiting the temples of the Buddhists. Day 6: Rohtang Pass (3,350 m)
 In Tibetan Rohtang means “A pile of corpses” and the pass once marked the end of the inhabitable world in the imagination of many Indians.

Day 7: Baralacha Pass (4890 m)
The Baralacha Pass regions are characterized by sparse vegetation and lofty mountain ranges. One may cross this pass and set camp at Brandy Nalla. You can reach the Sarchu checkpoint the next day from your camp.

Day 8: Lachalang Pass (5,065 m)
Ride from Sarchu over Lachalang la pass to the vast lunar landscape of the Moore planes at 4300 meters. 

Day 9: Indus valley
Reach Indus valley and you can visit to Tikse Monastery.

Day 10: Leh- The capital of Ladakh
Finally, you shall reach Leh, which is the capital of ladakh.

Things to do

Trekking: Trekking adventures in Ladakh are one of the major attractions for tourists and travellers. 

Visiting Monasteries: Ladakh tour will be incomplete without visiting monks, monasteries and the Leh palace

Taste local cuisine: You must try the local cuisine of Ladakh. You can try the famous Butter tea, which is also very well known as “gur gur”.

Tourists should remember that the weather in Ladakh is normally quite cold even in the summer; hence you must be properly equipped with heavy woolens at all time. Tourists should always keep enough drinking water in their bag packs as dehydration at high altitudes causes serious problems.
